چکیده

Identification of real-world systems is often applied in closed loop due to stability, performance or safety constraints. However, when considering Linear Parameter-Varying (LPV) systems, closed-loop identification is not well-established despite the recent advances in prediction error approaches. Building on the available results, the paper proposes the closed-loop generalization of a recently introduced instrumental variable scheme for the identification of LPV-IO models with a Box–Jenkins type of noise model structures. Estimation under closed-loop conditions with the proposed approach is analyzed from the stochastic point of view and the performance of themethod is demonstrated through a representative simulation example. © 2012 Elsevier Ltd. Refined Instrumental Variable methods for closed-loop system identification

This paper describes optimal instrumental variable methods for identifying discretetime transfer function models when the system operates in closed-loop. Several noise models required for the design of optimal prefilters and instruments are analyzed and different approaches are developed according to whether the controller is known or not. Moreover, a new optimal refined instrumental variable t...

Instrumental variable methods for closed-loop system identification

In this paper, several instrumental variable (IV) and instrumental variable-related methods for closed-loop system identification are considered and set in an extended IV framework. Extended IV methods require the appropriate choice of particular design variables, as the number and type of instrumental signals, data prefiltering and the choice of an appropriate norm of the extended IV-criterion...

Subspace-based optimal IV method for closed-loop system identification

This paper deals with an optimal instrumental variable method dedicated to subspace-based closed-loop system identification. The presented solution is based on the MOESP technique but requires to modify the original scheme by proposing a new PO MOESP method which uses reconstructed past input and past output data as instrumental variables. The developed approach is then illustrated via a simula...

Direct Identification of Continuous-Time LPV Input/Output Models

Controllers in the linear parameter-varying (LPV) framework are commonly designed in continuoustime (CT) requiring accurate and low-order CT models of the system. However, identification of continuous-time LPV models is largely unsolved, representing a gap between the available LPV identification methods and the needs of control synthesis. In order to bridge this gap, direct identification of C...
